Startling number of drivers admit to using phones while driving

In 2016, distracted driving was responsible for almost 3,500 deaths. The survey also learned the following about drivers and dangerous behaviors:

  • Around eight percent of drivers admit that they have watched a YouTube video while driving.
  • About 41 percent of drivers admit to using phones when stuck traffic while it is not moving or moving slowly.
  • Almost 20 percent of drivers admit to using social media on their phones while driving.
