Authorities name suspect in fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident

Pedestrians face an increased risk of injury when they are in close proximity to traffic. However, most drivers will use caution and do everything possible to avoid hitting a person traveling on foot. Unfortunately, not every motorist is as careful as he or she should be, and that can result in serious tragedy. This is what Arizona authorities allege, as they recently published the identity of a man suspected of a hit-and-run that killed two people in a pedestrian accident.

According to local police, a man was driving on a local roadway on a recent evening when he lost control of his BMW. He allegedly struck two men that were in the parking lot of a tire store. One of the pedestrians was a tow truck operator who was dropping off the vehicle of the second pedestrian.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect, who they say fled the scene after the crash. They say he is wanted on suspicion for two counts of manslaughter. They have appealed to the public for help in locating the man. There is no word on whether police believe there were any contributing factors to the crash, such as intoxicated driving or reckless driving.

No matter what the outcome of any criminal charges may be, the families of the two men who were killed in this pedestrian accident have the option of filing a civil claim. The claim could be made against the wanted man or anyone else that is deemed responsible for the crash. An Arizona attorney with extensive experience in handling wrongful death claims could help the families hold responsible parties financially accountable for their actions.
